Has anyone installed an aftermarket stud divider or is there even such a beast?  I'm looking to add a stud divider to the front stall on my Kiefer X-3.  Thoughts and suggestions are always welcomed.

Are you going to use it as an actual stud wall, or just to separate the first stall to use as storage space? If it is just for storage, I made my own out of a PVC lined plywood. I made brackets to hold the pins and bolted themonto the plywood using carriage bolts, then covered the exposed threads with a rubber cap I bought at the hardwarestore. We have a 4 horse trailer and very seldom haul more than two. The front stall has a shower and port-a-pottyin it with the walk thru door from the LQ, and the escape door. The second stall is used for hay, camp chairs, etc.I put the factory aluminum stud divider between the second and third stall. If we do haul more horses the wood divider still works great. It is solid and with the PVC liner on, it is waterproof as it is a product used in many hog and dairy barns.

I have made a few out of the thick rubber mats you can get at Southern States/Tractor Supply. Water proof plus tough enough to stand alittle abuse. You can cut them fairly easy with a Jigsaw.

Thanks for the input. It is going to be used mainly for storage as I only have one horse (although I will probably be hauling friends as well).  How do you attach the heavy rubber mats to the divider itself?? The PVC coated plywood sounds great to although I'm having a hard time picturing the brackets you made??  Thanks again!

1 inch Aluminum C-channel is 3/4 of an inch inside, first screw it into the bottom of the divider, then a couple of folks pick up the mat an insert into the c-channel and bolt it in, we used self locking nuts and ground them down smooth, but you could use castle nuts also, they are already rounded so no grinding would be needed.

I just welded some 1/2" id pipe onto "C" channel. That way I can use pins to hold it in place. Of course it helps that the wall bracket was already in the trailer and the divider also was set up to put a stud wall on it.Never thought about the rubber mats, sound like a good idea too. But aren't they kind of heavy?

EBY custom made mine and  it is floor to ceiling.  It really holds a lot of stuff back and can be hard to close when I have it jammed full!  I have hooks the full length on the first stall.  [each hook-had 4 hooks attached]. Don't know the name for them .
