Has anyone been to Midwest Trail Ride in Norman, Indiana? What are the trails like? Are the campsites shaded? Thanks for any input, and if anyone has pictures that would be even better!!

I camped there one time a couple of years ago. The sites are not shaded and are very close together. Trails are ok, but you have to ride out about 45 minutes to get to the National Forest Trails, ands then backtrack the same trail to get back. We didn't care for it.

We have been several times. Like the previous post said, the sites are not shaded. The trails are not challenging, but are well marked and easy to follow. If you go for one of their organized rides, the food is quite good and they usually have some other fun activities....dance, auction, cowboy races, training clinics. It is a great place if you have new riders or youngsters going along.
The stalls are right at your site, which I like. The bath house has plenty of stalls. They provide sawdust for the stalls and firewood for free.
We like it, but due to the lack of shade, we prefer to go in the fall or early spring.

Well, the attachments above are mine...lost my text entry somehow...Anyway, I've been there many times and while the trails are not as challenging as Shawnee or maybe Tennessee, they are still quite scenic, very rideable even after rain, and the campground is usually clean and facilities (bathrooms, showers, dining hall, tack store) are quite decent. True about the trail in and out of camp, but there are other trails in and out of camp that give you some options as well. Overall, a very relaxing, safe but scenic place to ride. Happy trails!

I just got backfrom a week long vacation there, there are two trails that get you out of camp and out to National Forrest, there are a few sites with shade trees and if you call them they will probley let you know the site numbers.
It is very clean, the trails are well marked, they allow dogs but they don't like them, and you'll only get 1 warning for not on leash.
We have been a few times and really like it overall.
