Dumped the tanks, blew out the lines, pumped in the antifreeze, cleaned out the fridge and closets.. Camping is over for the year. Time to start planning next years trips. Gotta git to TN. and scoping out Indiana. We try to get 2 big ones in a year ( spring and fall) and stay a little local rest of the year ( 6hrs. or less travel). What does everyone else have planned for 08 ?.Rich

our camping season just got started in Oct.

Heading to Henscratch Winery for Thanksgiving, Alafia River State Park after Christmas, Dupuis Preserve Jan, private ranch & Forever Fla  in Feb, Osceola Wagon Train ride & Indian Hammock in Mar, then a 2 week trek to Princess Place (north Fla, Broxton Bridge & Lakeview Plantation in SC), ending at a private ranch in May..  we don't camp summer months as most places are too wet, buggy, and too durn hot!

October thru April or May is big trail riding season here too. Summers are the same as Fl., to hot and buggy. I'll be going to Ok. in a couple of weeks to ride. Hoping it will be warmer than last Dec. when I went, it was in sinlge digits one night, and the teens the other nights, but it warmed up pretty good and made for pleasant riding.

Spent some time today looking at Pilot Mtn. in NC. Then stumbled on the Sumaratown trail and several campgrounds. Now starting to concoct a loop of Mt. Rogers, Hanging Rock-Sumaratown-Pilot Mtn., Dupont. I have a friend in eastern TN.( just east of Johnson City) offers to let us base camp there, about an hour to Great Smoky, Cherokee, Asheville. I can get the time off, just need to find some hay connections as I can't haul enough for several weeks. The boys travel well with little stress and are not picky about water. Come on spring !. Then again maybe we should snowbird and go south where they are just getting started. Rich.

It was a beautiful day here today, So I winterized my trailer also. I still haul horses a couple of times aweek for riding. But the LQ is cleaned out.

And I've got to rebuild my dump valves, I dragged them off while driving down some nasty dirt roads hunting this fall.
