Was wondering if any of you from the north could advise me on the effects if any, that the snow and salt from northern winters has on the bottom of your aluminum trailers? I am looking at a trailer that is up north and did not know if there were any problems that could arise from these conditions or not. Thanks in advance for any comments!!

My decorative wheel covers seems to show the rust first. Where the rocks have pitted the paint on the jack and other steel members they start to rust and need a touch up of paint occassionally. I have not noticed any problems with my aluminum frame members. The longest I've owned a trailer is 5 years. So I can't speak for a trailer older than that.

Well it all depends on how THEY maintained their trailer...Since I like to keep them thru the full depreciation cycle......I WASH my underside...check that...my trailer's underside after every trip......so I haven't experienced any effects...Knock on formica...
