I am replacing the clearance lights on my 4-Star trailer. The old clearance lights have a sealant under to keep water out of the holes. It is a 2001 trailer and it is still moist, it has not hardened, and can be scraped off with a piece of wood. It is gray and when a light is removed it looks a a piece of gum stuck to the bottom of your show, it sticks to the light and the trailer. I have been to two home improvement stores, and can't find anything similar. Does anyone what it is called?

One product is called Mortite. It comes in a roll consisting of individual strands thinner than a pencil that can be compressed or rolled into any shape. It basically is a non hardening clay type sealant material.
Polysulfide caulkings work very well, Sika and 3m5200 are excellent substitutes
