I just got a trailer, my first one. I've been riding less than two years, but bought some propoerty in March and now have two horses here. I am interested in doing as much trail riding as I can. Unfortunately, I don't have anyone to go out with right now. If anyone knows someone who might want to go out with me in this area, I"d be happy to hear about it. Especially I'd love to find someone who knows how to trailer and could help me get the hang of it! Is anyone out there who'd be willing to help/go riding with a newbie? Thanks!

Hi Bella
If you go to www.intrailrider.org you can follow a link or send a blank email to indianatrailriders-subscribe@groups Both of these will get you to the EdGe Its a equine discussion group based in Indiana and most, but not all on it are members of the Indiana Trail Riders. Great group if I do say so myself. You might want to join yourself as you are looking to ride and keep the trails we have around for awhile.

I live near South Bend and ride in the area frequently. Nice trails at Potato Creek just off US31 near Lapaz and Tippee River State Park near Winamac. Also beautiful trails in Michigan at Russ Forest...about 40 minutes from S. Bend. I've been riding for a number of years so feel comfortable with a trailer, etc. I would be willing to help you.

Hi, Anp.
Thanks for your response! I've been to Potato Creek, in fact went over yesterday in my first attempt to haul my appy. My brother came over from Ohio to help me and so far so good.
I've also been to Russ Forest. Do you know Bluestone Ridge, very near Russ Forest? I really like it. More diverse area. I've driven to the other place you mentioned, but haven't ridden there.
Is there someway we can continue emailing privately? I thought I saw a way to do that on this site, but can't find it now. I'd love to set up a time to meet up with you. I'm confident at this point that I could get my appy to Potato Creek, but it would be great to have someone to meet up with there. After I haul him nearby a few times on my own, I think I'd feel confident to take him a little further away.
