Has anyone used the compressed pellets in their trailer? I was told to spray them down so they would swell and fluff up. Would like someone to comment if they have used them. Thanks.

My neighbors use them in their stalls and really like them better than shavings, but don't know how they would work in a trailer once they dried out again. Wonder if they would be to dusty?? I'd like to know too. Maybe I could go borrow a bag from them and check it out the next time I go out.

If you add them to your trailer, be prepared to wet them down considerably, or they will likely cause a slippery surface - like marbles or beads. They are hard and take a while to soften up. I don't think they are any more dusty than fine shavings after they have "dissolved". I have rubber mats in the trailer, so I don't feel compelled to add shavings, but I do use the pellets in my stalls in combination with shavings to increase absorbtion.

I use the pellets in the stalls and the trailer. Yes, they need to be wetted down and broken up. I have found that some pellets are superior to others. I tried some that were bought at Mills Fleet Farm and decided that pellets were garbage and shavings were better. Then, after trying some Guardian brand name pellets, I do not plan to switch back to shavings. The good pellets are actually less dusty than shavings are. I do not know if the Guardian pellets are sold in retail stores or if they are only available through distributors.
