Has anyone used or price compared supplements purchased from the SmartPack company vs. other online sources or feed/tack stores?  I'm considering using and the bit that I have compared seems as though SmartPack is a bit more even though they state they are not more.  With shipping costs ($3.95 per horse each month) every month I'm wondering if it is worth the switch.  I have two horses at my own property/home.  I don't currently travel with either right now.  I add BugCheck, Accel, Source, and ProBios to my horse's diets.  My last thought was a few years ago I helped groom at a barn that had some boarders using SmartPack.  I rememeber some of the packs seeming damp/not so fresh even out of the shipping box (kept in nice feed room and shipping box handed over straight from shipper).  Just curious what anyone thinks...  Thanks!

I have looked into it-it was a few dollars more a month, not a ton more than doing it myself.  I think if you are someone with very little spare time on your hands and would rather be doing something else besides bagging up supplements every week, i would do it.  I have never heard any complaints about the freshness of the stuff they send.

I thought  was just too much each month to justify. Sure, its handy but to me it wasn't worth the cost. How hard is it to scoop out a supplement?

Other than trip away from home, why would you bag up supplements? Even if its a overnight show/ride, it can't be that hard to just bring the stuff along or just skip it for a night or two. Anyway- its up to you if you want to spend the money for Smart-pak or not.

I am currently using SmartPak for a horse that I have in training.  I decided to use them because I was able to put together a SmartPak of the supplements he is currently using at home, that they do not feed at the trainer's place.  It probably is costing me a little bit more, but it is worth it to know that he is getting what I feel he needs.  So far, I have had nothing but fresh, good quality supplements sent to my horse.  As for my horses at home, I buy in bulk and will continue to do so.  With four horses, it's easier on the budget to do it that way.

I also want to say, those folks at SmartPak are very nice and helpful - super customer service.

I recommended it for all my youth clients.  This way the parents know if things are being done and done correctly in the barn.  Horse name and everything so I didn't have to wonder who was getting the correct doses.

It looked really funny when horses went home and supplements didn't work, yet upon return and proper dosing things worked...it's not much $ for peace of mind.

I have used SmartPaks before and liked them. Yes, they are a little more in price, but they sure are handy if you travel or have someone helping with the feeding. I dog sit for people and am not always home to do my own feeding. I have 3 horses that are on various supplements during the year and it just makes it easier on the person feeding. Its real handy when I go camping also. You just have to weigh it (the cost) againest your situation.
