Harmer conversions in IN have a high density foam mattress that is thinner than a conventional spring type if there is a height issue.

Got one that we LOVE, from Whinny Cargo (site sponser) Queen size foam like those memory foam ones except it has a summer side & and a winter side.

If you have room, we love our California king mattress!

Futon mattress's work nicely too.

You can roll them up to fit thru smaller spaces

They are generally more inexpensive that regular matresses

Being thinner you get more head room to sit up in.

This is what I got for the current trailer.  (4 Star had tons of head room so could have a thicker mattress - current one does not, so looked for the most comfortable, but on the thinner side & we LOVE this!)  At the time, they offered a 5.5# one & that was what I got.

We just bought a trailer with a full size (wanted a queen). We searched just about every mattress store in town - OK City - that's alot of town! Couldn't find any place cheaper than Sam's, so we bought a queen mattress there. I wish someone could have given us a better price, but it wasn't even close. It's a Serta. The only thing bad - I was so excited about having enough space to raise up ALL the way in the GN without bumping your head - well this mattress is so tall it took up more space than the cheapy and therefore I still have to keep my head lowered while in the GN. One more thing - it was VERY difficult to get the queen mattress in the GN with all the cabinets and such. Once you get it in there, it's there to stay!! That's why I didn't take it back to get a shorter one - my husband would not have NOT been happy about trying to get it back out!!

I've used a Futon mattress from 2000 to 2007. It was great. My new trailer came with mattress, so I'm using it.

As said the Futons are easier to take in and out, when you want to clean under it.

We use a Coleman air mattress with a foam pad and quilted mattress cover on top.

Head room is a problem in my gooseneck, so I use a queensize sleeper sofa mattress-about 4" thick.  It's more comfortable in the gooseneck than it was in the sofa.  I got mine for free from a friend who was getting rid of the sofa and had never even used the mattress - it was brand new still in the plastic.  They can be purchased from the mattress stores for about $200.
