We camped there about 4 years ago. It is beautiful riding, rugged but very, very rocky. We did not mind rocks because of course we are from MO. Depending on how fast you ride, most of the trails can be covered in two to three days. Debbie

I have camped at Devil's Den alot of times and have always liked it. The trails have always been in good shape. We recently went to a newer place by Collins, MO (which isn't too far from Springfield) called Eagles Ranch. Excellent campground and the owners are wonderful. Nice stalls and sites with electric and primitive camping and a really nice bath house. They also furnish you with free bags of ice, bottled water & fire wood. Trails weren't marked quite as well as I would of liked, but it was still pretty easy to get around. They also have a 5 acre fishing lake, and boat to use also.

Devils' den is a great riding place, remember to use the entry road to ther north of the area, the south entrance road has amazing switchbacks not for trailers larger than a standard 2 horse. Have you ridden at Huckleberry Stables over by the old Ponderosa? Rick and Mary Bousfield....great folks and beautiful gorgeous riding.
