Well got my new self inflating mattress today. And it got the "Cody seal of approval"! My son thinks it's the "neat cool!" thing he said. It's 4" thick and rolls right up and the air goes out and it fits right in my bedroll with everything else, got Cody's pics to prove the O.K.

I'm set now for a few of my overnight at the high mountain lakes along the way trips this summer!

Nice. What brand is it?

You probably know, but some people may not, most manufacturers say not to ever blow into those self-inflating pads. Even if it takes a little longer for them to inflate when they get older. A guy at a sporting goods store once told me that they cut open all the ones they get on warranty returns. He said you can easily tell the ones that have been blown into. They will have green mold, mildew, and bacteria growing inside from the stuff that comes from your breath.

It's by Guide Gear. Whoever would try to blow into one of these The object of them is so you don't have to blow air and get all light headed!

That cracked me up when I read that.............

Yeah, I agree.  Kind of defeats the purpose, huh.  I think some people think they can get it harder or better or bigger if they blow into it.

I am glad you posted this - I just got my truck tent for my Nissan Titan and I was looking at these exact types of mattresses at Cabela's for the bed of the truck. So they are pretty comfy huh? I have ridges in the truck bed and definitely need some padding!

Want to start camping with the horse and doing some Competitive Trail Riding - and hubby says "No WAY" to the LQ trailer!

Don't let your husband get to comfortable in the back of that little truck, or you'll NEVER get a LQ!!
