I stopped at a dealer today to "look" and found a Valley 2 horse slant stock combo that I really like. I'm not familiar with this brand and was hoping for some input on them. Compared to the basic CM Dakota, it seemed like a good deal. Too good to be true maybe?

I'm far from an expert, but I did just go through the trailer purchasing process and decided against a Valley for the simple reason that they have a bad reputation for rust. I was told by a Valley dealer that for 2007 they started powder coating the metal before painting, and this has helped somewhat, but she said that they still don't compare to the galvanealed steel trailers. She told me that they are a nice starter, entry level trailer but not expected to have a long life due to the rusting. This of course, is in New England, where the winters do a real number on trailers. Perhaps in another part of the country, they hold up a little better.

Several friends have them here in South Fla and they look old pretty quickly - paint fades, rust starts, etc but then not many steel trailers do well in Fla....
