I am looking for software to help keep up with shots, shoeing etc. I do not need an elaborate system but something better than writing on my calander. Any ideas ?

I purchased HorseWorks several years ago.  Found it was more of a pain in the butt to enter all the data than to just keep a hand written journal.  I own 7 horses.  Don't know how many horses you have, but I guess if you've got quite a few,  a horse keeping software product would be worth it.  But for me personally, it didn't work..........

A regular spreadsheet would work just fine for you.  All the horse software I've seen didn't apply to my small operation and was not a good fit.  I could see the vaule of some programs if I was managing a breeding barn, or having to keep detailed records for boarders.

I use hanging folders, each folder has pictures of horse, papers, and a 8.5x11 spiral notebook. On the front of each notebook I have horse's name, date of foaling or purchase, vital signs, and emgenecy numbers. I also log notes on each horse.

I set up a chart in microsoft word, if I could figure out how to attach it I would.  If you want, email me and I will send it to you.  It might work for you.  It would also be real easy to set one up it exel.
