Would welcome any comments on the '06 Exiss Sport 305LQ?

The Event model has thicker aluminum.  There seem to be alot of problems with the Sport models which is their 'entry' alum. trailer line.

I have an '03 Event and the difference in the sport in the event is well worth the extra money....although I have noticed that as of late all the LQ models are sports...which is why I am looking at other trailers to step up to a LQ

I have an 06' Exiss Event with 12 ft. LQ.  I had a few issues at first but Don at Dixie Horse and Mule fixed me up and I am very, very happy with it.  Give him a call if you want an Exiss Event. They are out their just a little harder to find. It is alot better than the Sport model by far.

Look for an Exiss Event XT308 LQ.  That will be adjacent to the Sport model 3horse LQ. The 8 foot wide trailer will be the Exiss Event XT388 LQ.

I agree with what others have said, I wouldn't hesitate getting an Exiss Event, but would not buy a sport model, especially in a LQ.

Edited to correct spelling errors.

Oh my GOSH! What kind of problems with the Sport models is everyone talking about? Is it a safe trailer? Obviously, it's our first trailer and we would use it primarily for occasional trail rides, etc. However, our children might get into some showing - reining, etc. I'm just looking for a basic model with a few amenities - i.e. shower, toilet, sink, refrigerator. I know we should buy as much of a trailer as possible, but these prices are really scary. Well, with all that said, I guess I'm just asking for some advice on what would be a nice safe trailer (3 horse) with the above for around $25-30K. Thanks so much for your input!! I really appreciate it!!!!!!

The difference between the Event and Sport is the way they are constructed.   The Sport is not as heavy duty a trailer, if I remember correctly, the spacing between the floor beams is larger, it has lighter axles, etc than the event.

Yes the sport is probably safe, as long as it's not overloaded, that's true for any trailer of course, but with the lighter axles etc, it's going to take a lot less weight to overload it.

I have seen Sport models on the road and the people I know who bought them knew it wasn't top of line. However, it was a good trailer they could afford. It was that or something with much less in the way of comfort such as a stock trailer. I was looking at the Sport model but found a better deal on a used Event. I would think that like anything else, don't abuse it and you'll be fine.

You must also remember that the Sport was pretty much "redesigned" about a year or so into its life. The base wall & floor specs of the current products are much heavier than the first ones. So as with any unit- if you're looking pre-owned, don't assume it is the same as a new one (applies to any brand).
