I have been shopping for a living quarters trailer, the smallest I can go, that has a dinette.  Does anyone out there have one and if so, how do you like it? Is there anything that you would do differently?

I build a few trailers and I can tell you that 7' shortwall with a dinette would be rare, Just draw a picture with 7" line on one side an 11" line on the other side and make them 7" apart, one end would be square, the other angled. you just drew the floor of a Seven foot shortwall. Now make a square that is 3" x 6" and sit in in the drawing you will see that you have no room for anything else. It could be done, but most trailer conversion companies have to build trailers that will appeal to a larger group of people, so it would be rare.

Hey there... I currently have a six and a half foot SW and I have a sofa, separate bath with pocket door, refrigerator, microwave, closet, pantry, linen closet, and more. I have plenty of room. You really should have plenty of room for a dinette, just keep it small. What I mean by small is keep it under 30" deep, or go with a slide out.

Good Luck

I may be wrong. . . but I think the Sundowner Trailblazer lll has a 7' short wall.   I'm not sure if they are still producing that layout, but you might look for a used one.  The one's I saw had a sofa with the water tank underneath, but I'd call Sundowner and inquire

Dixie Horse and Mule carries the 7' short wall with in dinette in glide out and non-glide out models. We bought our trailer from these folks and we could not be more thrilled with our trailer and the service provided by all the folks there!

Hiya Mandan,

I've got an Exiss with a 6' SW with a dinette. It's TIGHT and the overhead room is low (good thing I'm SHORT!!!....but they have to put cabinets somewhere!). You can fit 1 adult on each side (knocking knees underneath)or 2 small kids per side with just enough room for plates on top. Yes, you can turn it into a bed, but not an ADULT bed.  I travel alone so it has suited me well for 2 show seasons and I actually LOVE this trailer and have had NO problems what-so-ever with it. When I get to a show  just walk my extra stuff into the horse area through the bathroom and clear up the dinette area. If it's just you, there's plenty of room to do show entries or eat. Just FYI, since I show QH and show both ways  I have finally admitted to needing more room. But my next trailer will have a dinette, too! Good luck in your search!

Call JNJ conversions they can design one for you 877-848-5202. I have seen the 6 foot short wall unit and I have a one of their 10' SW. They use solid wood cabinets in their units and for the quality the prices are reasonible.
