Hello!  I am hoping those of you in the Columbus, OH area might be able to give me ideas....

Hubby and I are horse camping at Palmerosa in Hocking Hills Oct 15-20, 2006.  On our way back to Fort Wayne, Indiana, we would like to stay w/a non-horsey friend in Columbus and watch the Bucks pound the Hoosiers on 10/21/06 (we are Buckeyes living in Hoosierland).  We would like to find a place to lodge our horses and trailer (2H bumper pull) Friday night 10/20 and very possibly Sat 10/21 as well.

Any ideas?  I have a message in to the Franklin County Fairgrounds in Hilliard, Oh, which would be the perfect location - not too far from where we'll be staying at our friends so we can easily care for the horses.  Still haven't heard back from them, though.

Your input is greatly appreciated!

Well, I have to give the fairgrounds a call again, still haven't heard from them, even after they promise to call within 24 hours.

I'd still love to read about other options in the Columbus area if you have any!  Thanks!

I'm sure you already know, but the QH Congress will be going on while you're in Columbus.

You might try this number for Triple Turn Ranch. We have barrel raced there many times but not in the last year. They might have facilities where you can keep your horses and trailer or might know somwhere else in columbus where you can put up your horses. I got the number from their web page. Its located in Canel Winchester on the southeast side of Columbus.

I saw your post and was wondering where in Hocking Hills you are camping with your horses.  We camped their last year and had a wonderful time but the place we stayed (Three Reasons Farm) is no longer allowing horse-camping.  We have a pretty big rig and can't fit into the State Park Horsecamp.  Thanks

I just re-read your post and saw you are camping at Palmerosa.  Have you stayed there before?  We haven't.  Wondered what it is like.

For reference, Alum Creek State Park in Delaware, OH is just north of Columbus.
