Any Idea on what these systems cost?

I have used the valve caps that are set for a certain pressure and turn red when low.

Thanks for the info.

I was researching them last week and found a couple of sites that sell the monitor and 8 transmitters for $590.

I think those are the best value.
The USRider article does say (as we already know) that "blow-outs" are caused largely by underinflated tires, which flexes and weakens the sidewall, etc.
If your tires are at pressure before the trip and if you check the color of the valve caps at every rest/water stop you are VERY UNLIKELY to have a blown tire. As noted in the other thread, several of us have had a tire go out on the rear axle of a duallie, tandem, or dual tandem and barely noticed it.

I've seen prices of ~$580 for the base unit and 6 sender caps, $107 a pair for extra sensing caps. The "extra protection" hardly seems worth it.
DISLAIMER; Not worth it for ME, "peace of mind" value might justify them to others.

It's about $20 for 4 of the pressure sensitive caps.

Even then I still check My truck and trailer pressure before taking off.I run lower tire pressure in the truck tires when not haulin just to keek from wearing the center out.

I think the main thing is to check your tires and look them over when you stop and give the whole rig a walk around.
