I'm looking for a suitable hitch for my gooseneck trailer. I've priced the "Pop Up" and "BW" brands. The "Pop Up" seems considerably less expensive, but I'm wondering about the quality. Any thoughts?

We have the Pop-up brand hitch in both our trucks, we've been happy with them and wouldn't hesitate to get another one.  We really like not having to craul in the bed to raise or drop it.  The only problem we have had occasionally, with raising the ball, is it sticking if we leave the cover off when it's down and hay gets down in the crevice around the ball.

My thought: I'm more for reliability, robust design, and simple operation.  I expect mechanisms to work smoothly.  I compared  many.  I bought and installed a B&W hitch

I've used several gooseneck hitches. Currently using a B&W turnover.

My last truck had a Diamond Hitch  They are a smaller manufacture in Wyoming. Hitch performed flawlessly for 3 years that I had the truck.  No reaching in a wheel well to disconnect it. Everything is done from above. I would have bought another if it hadn't been for the deal the Ford dealer gave me to install the B&W.

We install both brands, about 50/50.  The PopUp brand also has a model exactly like the B&W.  They call it the FlipOver.  Works the same way, looks the same, same rating, same installation.

I have had both of them. I currently have the "Pop Up" flip over and it operates fine, rated the same as B&W, and cost me over $100 less.

I've got one of the pop ups.  I really like it.  I don't have a problem reaching in and releasing it and then turning over the ball.  It isn't like you have to do it twice a day.  I got mine installed at quality bumper for around 500 and that included the wiring in the bed of the truck for my 7 pin.

Later,

Chad
