I have a 2002 Silver Star Starlite Supreme horse trailer... 7' short wall, 3-horse gooseneck.I want to add living quarters to the trailer. Couple of questions.First, I'm not sure, but I think that the model is the 2033A--only has 5200 pound axles. There is a 7000 pound axle option. Is it possible to get the weight rating of this trailer recertified if I have Silver Star replace the axles at the factory?Second, I had a major roof leak last winter--I think water somehow froze in the (dealer installed) A/C somewhere around a seal. Don't know for sure yet. What kind of guarantee do I get with aftermarket living quarters that the trailer won't leak and ruin thousands of dollars of ceiling, walls, and floor? Can anyone recommend a reputable installer in the South Carolina or Illinois areas? I want a job that'll last for years, be comfortable to live in, and that will fend off musty odors.Mike

I would think that if Silver Star puts the axles under the trailer they would issue a new data tag for it(stating the new ratings). It may be a problem getting the manufacture to do this probley going to have to rely on the dealer. As far as your Air conditioning goes there are a couple of ways that it could have leaked like it did. 1. The condensor froze allowing the run off to drip down through the opening(usually not alot of water but some). 2.The hole in the drain pan of the air conditioning unit clogs(usually alot of water). 3. The seal on the unit itself is leaking( probley not alot of water unless the it was just gone?) There are alot of good conversion shops betwenn Illinois and South Carolina, I do conversions but am a small shop, and it would be next spring before I could get to it. Hope this helps.

Indiana has a lot of trailer conversion companies.  Because Northern Indiana has the largest RV companies, alot of them branch off and start up in the Trailer Conversion business.

Showtime Conversions is in Middlebury, IN   http://www.showtimeconversions.com/

Spencer RV and Horse trailer in Bremen, IN

http://www.showtimeconversions.com/

Going through a dealer you can have Sierra Interiors do it in Elkhart, IN

I know there are at least 2-4 more but I don't know the web sites or their names.
