Below is the link for the one we put on our trailer. We have a metal building that we store our trailers under and had only a few inches to spare once we got the jack handle out on the trailer to raise and lower. This allows us to raise and lower in tight places. We purchased this through our dealer and installed it ourself and did not pay near this price. You might shop around and find a better price. Installation would take around two hours at the most.

I second ghgirl's post. all the other backbreaking work pales when compared to cranking the 2500# off that hitch! I'm dreaming of an electric jack Christmas and have been looking for info on what works well. Thanks for the post.
55 year old, 130# with deteriorating neck discs and arthritis who's in the best shape of her life since I lead workout classes MWF at 5:30 am!!
chiropractor session - $60 each
orthopedic evaluation - $200
physical therapy session - $150
$600 for release from cranking that jack - PRICELESS!

They are nice to have. We have the El Pac 2 since we have a two speed jack. You engage the jack to what I call the easy gear or fast gear and this will raise the trailer faster than anyone could raise it in the "hard" or slow gear. We have ours installed on a 24ft trailer with 10' LQ and it is no strain on the jack at all. We looked at the electric over hydraulic unit and decided this was the best for our situation. It does not take up that much space and does the job.

Another option would be to get air ride on the rear of the truck, I drop the rear end, back under the hitch, hit the up switch, two cranks and i am hooked up. An added benefit is a much smoother ride empty on my 75 1ton dually.

The air ride on the rear you are talking about....is that the air bags you are referring to? We are thinking of doing that and I was wondering how the truck would ride afterwards. We have a Chevy 3500 4X4 dually and pull a Plat. 4 horse w/12.5 LQ and it is so rough, I hate it!!!! Let me know if you think this would help smooth out the ride. I found a place that installs them for $375.
Thanks

I have ridden with people that have them and there is a noticable difference in the ride of the vehicle. It helps to keep the vehicle from hitting the overload springs as often and will smooth out the ride. The person I rode with had the Firestone system.

I am looking for a electric or hydraulic jack for my living quarters any suggestions??
save the money and buy a health club/gym membership.
I thought about this for a while,,, I'm with you, but have to say that most people probably don't hook/unhook enough times per week to get much excercise benefit from it, even during the peak season. It is barely a 3 minute job.
Then there's the electric drill... we already did that.

Please clarify.
I'm guessing this is a COMPLETE air ride system, not "just air bags" ?
The 3 or 4 hundred dollar air bags usually don't have a convenient air dump and I doubt they have enough travel to drop out from under a gooseneck trailer. I'd be happy to be wrong on this, but I would like to know.
