I am wondering if there are any strong opinions about Silverlite horse trailers in this crowd.  We found a '96 3/4 ton Dodge Ram truck over the weekend to handle the load and now are on to the quest for a 3 horse trailer.  No used ones in our area so we are looking at a new Silverlite Freedom model.  Nervous about ordering a new one without some opinions by someone other than the dealer.  I know it has a wood floor but most of the rest is aluminum.  I assume since I can't find any used ones advertised that resale is pretty good here in Oregon.  thanks for any help.

I have a Silverlite Patriot 3 and love it.  It is one of the best made trailers that I could find for the money.  Mine has an aluminum floor in it?  Not sure if some of their trailers have wood floors or not??  Anyway in my opinion Silverlite makes a very good quality trailer.  They are also great with their customer service, if you loose something or break something on the trailer they are good about getting you the new piece and alot of times they won't even charge you..  Well good luck finding your trailer...

The standard floor in a Freedom is Douglas Fir (with a 5 year warranty), but if you prefer, rumber is an available option. Just FYI

Didn't know they had wood floors in them..  Thanks for the info.  I use to have a Classic that had the Rumber floor and it was really nice..  The trailer on the other hand wasn't so nice...

3 HORSE MAMA....They make Silverlite, and the Silverado brands right down the road in Eugene...They would love to show you around there facility I'm sure. I looked at both brands and they are quality trailers. I think they are more common here on the west coast than the east . I know the eastern folks talk about trailers manufactures I've never heard of out here. Silverlite http://www.silverlite.com/ex/  and Silverado http://www.silveradotrailers.com/  will build anything you want!Go look em over!

I have a Silverado. I compared both trailer manufacturer's materials and construction. The Silverado is a better built trailer. I've had mine for 3 years now and love it. The only one I found that I might have chosen over it was Jamco, but they were only located in Canada and I wanted a manufacturer closer to home. Silverado was great to work with too. My trailer is a total custom build and I am picky. I'd suggest going to both manufacturing sites and have them describe and show you how they're built from the ground up. It's quite educational.
