Has anyone added LED strip lights to the inside of the horse compartment as interior loading lights? Is it worth the cost or is it too bright for the horses? I like the idea of brighter lights at night to see better.

We've relamped all the lights one one of our trailers, and the running lights on the rest, and have been very satisified. There are many types of LEDs with varying LUMs of output. They are easy to install, and a trip through EBay will offer you thousands of varieties. You should be well satisfied with the transformation.

Just to clarify, I have four LED strips in the horse compartment. Also four on each exterior side on the outside as well as two on the rear and they work well.

It's a great idea mainly because the cost of the equipment will be offset by the money saved on the light bills. I disagree that a bright light will be ok in the horse compartment. I think that a dimmer light would be better, but it's your decision. My uncle has a farm, and he recently changed the lights in the horse compartment to led strip lights from https://www.ukled.co.uk/ and as much as I know it's working so far. This project should be successful and you will see the long-term benefits.
