We are running out of resources for overnighting in western KS. One phone # goes to a fax and is only number given. Other is booked even though a huge facility. Need room for 5 horses and 3 rigs Thursday, July 28 if anyone has facilities our small group hasn't come across. Huge thank you ahead of time.

Where are you headed? I know that straight off I-70 west of Salina, Kansas, there is Kanopolis. It is a beautiful camp with some pipe pens and hookups... also great shower house for you. Google it. Fees are very reasonable. There are also decent trails to stretch out and exercise your horses if you wish.

One of the rigs we're traveling with found us a place right over the CO border. Thank all of you for the responses. Seems like our former resources have dried up since we started heading west back in '04. I suppose many barns are now on FB. I know it's a huge commitment to overnight travelers like us.

We've never had a bad experience over the stretch of more than a decade. We've met a lot of nice folks eager to see that we are taken care of for the night. It would be nice if there were a website or two that are kept up to date and reliable. For this trip, I called a listing out in Kansas only to have a fax screech in my ear. No other information given.

Glad your experiences have been positive. Some people are very accomodating and eager to help...I don't mind spending the $$ for a nice place. I am mainly concerned about our horses, their safety and health... I can deal with whatever else I have to.
