My brand new trailer (never sold I'm the first owner) had the wheel come off and pass me while driving down the road. Found out all lug nuts were miss matched, but the bigger issue I want to know if anyone else has had is the wheel studs breaking. When trying to put the wheel back on to limp on down the road the wheel stub broke off. Went to another wheel to get yet another lug nut and the wheel stud broke off in my hand. Per repair dealer the issue was with the fancier wheels and that the wheel studs not long enough for these wheels. See photos. Since Universal makes Exiss and Sooner wonder if a bigger issue?
Happier note Exiss / Sooner is taking care of all the cost related to the fix.

I am somewhat dubious of the "too short studs" cause. In what way were the lug nuts mis-matched ?Can you post a picture of the end of the broken stud ?I Think either the studs are defective (The stud breaking off in your hand leads me to this conclusion.) or the wheel is not hub supported leaving the studs to carry all the load. The wheel hub should engage the brake drum. The wheel studs merely hold the wheel to the drum/rotor. Another failure is improperly torqued lug nuts. As they loosen, the wheel disengages and breaks the studs. (Similar to above failure mode)

I think that may be the wrong lugs for those wheels. All the aluminum wheels I have seen have lug nuts that fit up inside of the wheel....... In other words, it would have threads an inch or so beyond the tapered area of the lung nut..... What you have there is all of the load bearing is at the outer end of the stud, a lot of leverage there, snapping them off..... They should all be replaced because of excessive stretching. Use the correct lug nuts and tighten to correct spec with a torque wrench..

Retento: Are you saying the lug nuts were not torqued against the wheel ? But against the closed inside of the lug nut ?That would be the same as a loose lug nut... since the wheel is not held against the hub.Good thought ..

Hoss, that is possible. most of the lug nuts I've seen for aluminum wheels are much longer than the regular open ended steel wheel lug. The acorn mating surface is maybe an inch or so from the threaded end that screws on, it actually fits inside if the aluminum wheel because of the wheels thickness. I'll see if I can find a picture.......

I guess if those wheels have a steel insert in each bolt hole, a regular acorn style blind hole lug nut could be used so long it doesn't bottom out before it tightens against the wheel. OP said it had mismatched lugs and they were probably hammered down with an air impact wrench with 150 psi!!!!..

They (repair shop) threw away my parts that they swapped after Sooner advised they didn't want them shipped back. (I would have liked them) So the pictures I have attached is all I have left. However my repair order has that they supplied 24 Drive in Studs that are 1/2 x 2.65, 24 chrome lug nut 1/2" and torqued all lug nuts to 150 lbs. Sooner did advise me that some dealers arevhaving issues with these wheels being stolen and that maybe the different lugs were from dealer as Sooner ships out with all the same nuts. No idea just wanted those that have these wheels to check them to hopefully avoid anyone else having this issue. I could have killed someone.
Again, dealer and Sooner were very apologetic and no issue with them covering repair bill.
