I'm wanting to purchase a used trailer from a private party; my credit union is requiring an appraisal, so I have to find a dealership to do one, and hopefully it's something they can do from photos and a list of options, because it's not in my area. But my actual question is.....would a dealership local to me be my best bet, or would they be inclined to undervalue the trailer, in the hopes there was something on their lot (now or in the future) that they could sell me? I imagine there is also a charge to do one....what should I expect that to be?Is there such a thing as a person that is strictly a trailer appraiser?Thank you!

Find comps here on Horsetrailerworld.com to give to the bank. If you still need to get an appraisal from a dealer, at least you will have a guideline of where pricing should be. Best wishes and safe travels with your new trailer!
