I am adding a weekender to a Sundowner Value Lite (2003. I have removed the sheet metal on all walls ad would like to remove the floor carpet (original)and take a look at the sub-flooring but I CANNOT get the floor to budge. I suppose it is glued down with super-human-no-removal glue so I am wondering if there is anything I am missing other than just forcing this original sub-floor loose. If I am unable to get it removed, are there any obvious problems with installin a new sub-floor on top of the carpet and then putting my desired flooring down?Help!

Look underneath. If I am not mistaken, they wrapped sheets of plywood with carpet, and layed them in the floor. There oftentimes were screws coming up from the bottom into the wood. And no- you need to make sure and get it out before you install anything else on it. It is over 10 years old already, and wasn't designed to be a LQ floor.

Putting a new floor over carpeting will invite an area that can absorb and hold moisture. This would be a good incubator for mold problems.
If the carpeting isn't installed onto plywood and instead it's glued to the structure, a heat gun can soften the glue enough to rip the carpeting free. As Richard said, look for screws first.

Problem...I can't get the sub-floor up to replace it. I want to remove the original carpeting and replace it with LQ quality flooring. I originally just wanted to remove the carpeting, but can't figure out how to remove it. Suggestions?
