Hi all,

Anyone here ever use spray foam insulation (from a real spray machine, not a can) for the interior of an LQ?  If so, what was your experience with it?

What are the pros and cons of using spray foam insulation?

Thanks so much,

Kim

We have a friend who had his LQ finished with a household closed cell foam insulation. The actual job took less time than the clean up. The results were significant. One of the most recognizable changes was how quiet the LQ part of the trailer became. The insulation allowed no air infiltration at any spot other than structural openings. When we installed the interior finishes, the walls were quite rigid with the flush foam backing.

All of the wiring and plumbing had to be finished before the foam application. We cut the foam flush with the studs and then applied a thin foam sheet over each face before the interior walls were installed. We contacted a commercial foam applicator and took the trailer to a house he was insulating. At the end of the house application, we had the horse trailer parked close to his trailer. Before the contractor cleaned up with the first job, he shot the LQ with probably what was left over in the lines. It took less than half an hour to accomplish, and turned out to be the best trailer insulation application I've ever encountered.
