Hello- I need some advice on trailer tires. I have a 4 Star, goose neck 2 horse with LQ and I mainly pull one horse. I bought the trailer used from a friend and the trailer came with ST 225/75r15 tires. The plate one the trailer recommends 235/75r15c's. The tires are a little worn and I have had a few problems, so I am going to buy a new set of tires. Should I buy what 4 Star recommends or go with what was on the trailer? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Also, the GVWR is 8400 and the GAWR is 3500.Thanks-

Following the manufactures advise on tire size, type and air pressure is in your best interest. It is always a good idea to go with the suggested minimums, however you can increase the tire rating. Never de-rate a a recommended tire.

You could do a ST225-75R15 load range D... That would have more capacity that the 235 C.... Keep the trailer a little lower also... Same size that's on the trailer now in a load range "D".. Load rating of 2540# at 65 psi..  I got a set on a two horse BP and they are holding up quite well.
