My DH surprised me with a new car for my birthday and I'm a little concerned about it's towing ability. It's a Yukon Denali with 20" rims. It does have a tow package. Are the rims safe to tow with? I have a 2 horse Sundowner bumper pull with steel frame and aluminum skin. My old car was a regular Yukon with factory 16 rims and it towed like a dream. Thanks for your help.

Why would the 20" wheels be any less suitable for towing?
I have 20" wheels on my Ford F350 and they have performed as well as any other size that I've ever used.
To be more of an issue would be making sure your tires that are mounted on those wheels are rated to carry the weight that you will subject them to. I see tires that run from a rating of 2600lbs each to over 3800lbs each, That gives me a combined effective rate for the rear axle of 5200 vs 7600 lbs. or a difference of 2400lbs. All on the same wheels, just depends what tires I mount on the wheels.

I'll check the tires and make sure they're okay. I'm so used to the way the 16" rims drive on my old Yukon and this new one drives like a giant sports car. It's so much less tire wall I wanted to make sure they were still safe.

I would bet that the tires are "Low Profile" auto tires, NOT truck rated. And only about 3" tall.I don't know if the newer "flashy type" rims and tires are any good for towing or not.
