Can you only use these if there are water hookups available? If you have a water tank is the gravity water pressure enough to work, or do you need water pump? If water pump is necessary what do you use to power pump? is a battery enough or do u need electric hookup, generator or propane option? Where do you place propane tank when uses this shower?Right now my trailer is only equipped to use electrical hookup, but am looking into either adding battery or propane power option.

I cannot speak to the water issue as I have no tanks. I wouldn't know if gravity water pressure would be enough. I would be interested to know. However I can help with the propane. I am using the first stall of my trailer for the tank as its the closet place for it. I made a stud divider so protect the tank plus we add several bungie straps to hold it in place. This is the second year of my set up and its has works out very well for me. Plenty of air flow in the trailer as there are 8 windows and three top vents.

The eccotemp requires a flow of 1gpm minimum to ignite the burner.  I run a pump from a 12 volt deep cycle battery.  I've pumped 110 gallons and still had lots of battery left.  I enjoy a long hot shower.

You will have to have an electric pump to have any flow and pressure. It's doubtful the heater will be higher than the shower head, which will only afford the slightest water movement. It takes over 3 feet of height to produce one pound of pressure. Most RVs 12V pumps utilise ~50 psi or better, quite similar to some house systems. A roof mounted tank will give you some flow, but not much pressure.

Sorry, wrong answer. Each vertical foot results in ~4 tenths of a pound of pressure.

Here's a link to an article I wrote on building your own shower.  I've used the shower for several years.

Horsesnharleys:  It answers the questions you posted.

We built out our living quarter and used an instantaneous propane water heater. You have to have a pump for sure. We found a pump on ebay for about $50.00. We can camp for at least three days on a single deep cycle battery running light, waterpump and vent for propane cook top before we need to re-charge. Our shower is in the first stall. We also put quick connects on the water heater so we can put in the tack room if we need to haul a third horse.
