About a month or so ago (have not been hauling my trailer much) I put my trailer in the shop to have new batteries put in, and my hydraulic jack replaced! Now, my 12 volt stuff (water pump, aux lights exc) will not work unless my trailer is plugged into my truck?? Before they worked fine and fed off my on board batteries.. Also the batteries are not keeping a charge. Phoned the service department and the mechanic is out for 2 weeks for family issues, and its 3 hours away. Was hoping yall could help?? Thanks

First check fuse panel...then check to see if they connected the inverter back up. You have a drain somewhere, or the power is not getting to your batteries from the plug to recharge them. So you may have to be sure the 12VDC is not reversed. D.C. lights and stuff won't work if not hooked up correctly polarity wise.

Ok found a blown fuse,,, when I go to replace it, if my trailer is plugged into my truck (7 way), the fuse blows instantly! With my trailer unplugged from truck, it does not blow, however, the lights (12v) are extremely bright! Sure appreciate you alls help, no good at this kind of stuff! Thanks

Sounds like the batteries are in series with the truck.  to get extremely bright lights the voltage has to be increased.  12 volt batteries deliver 12 volts unless in series ... Then they combine to deliver more. ... You have a wiring issue that needs someone one site to correct.  Don't use the trailer anymore until it's checked.  Internet messages are mere guesses that can get you more damage.

Listen to Hosspuller! You apparently have had the 12 vdc doubled for you accidently, giving you 24vdc. Have this repaired onsite as burned wires are a real possibility if the fuse did not blow.

It's quite easy to determine if the batteries were incorrectly installed/wired. The positive terminals should only be wired to the other positive lead with a heavy wire from one of the terminals supplying the trailer. The negative terminals should only be wired to the other negative terminal and then to a ground.

If a wire from negative terminal is positioned on a positive terminal, or vice versa, you will have 27 volts being applied to your converter, which will cause its protection device to open the circuit. I believe your new batteries were incorrectly installed/wired.
