Can you tell me how the trails are like are they rocky, hilly creeks, good for a young or out of shape horse. How many trails are there and how many miles can you ride. Did you like the campground. Just any info you can give me would be appreciated. Thank you Kim

you can find all kinds of info at the Ky State Parks website......I ride a 20 year old twh........when I was there, there were all sorts of horses, young, old, in the middle, green as grass and old faithfuls. The trails are a mixture of dirt/sand/rock, nice creeks/ water crossing.....I usually have borium (dril-tec) on my horse's shoes but did not on that trip and it was no problem.

How far do you live Rose from Pennyrile? Do you go pretty often there? I noticed that there are only 8 equine camp sites. I'm sure they fill up fast. I'm planning on going there when this rain stops. Hopefully there will be other people there that I can maybe ride with to try out the trails. Usually my husband goes with me but he's not a all day rider. He likes to ride for around 2 hours and then he's pretty much done for that day. Do you think the trails dry out pretty good there or would you give it a couple of weeks before tackling it?
