I removed the rubber mats to clean the aluminum floor and found moderate pitting in the 3rd and 4th stall areas. I power washed it clean and reinstalled the matts for now.

I was wondering if anyone has had good experience covering the floor with a spray in liner material [like Rino liner or Line X ] I know 4Star uses the Werm floor coating without rubber mats , but I am wanting to continue using the thick rubber matts on top of whatever I put down.

Basically I just want to seal the floor to prevent further damage. Of course I realize that I need to remove the rubber mats and clean it more often then I have.

I have the rhino-lining in my trailer for much the same reason, although my pitting was just beginning. You are right to put mats back on top; this is NOT a cushioning liner. Mine has been down for several years now and I'm glad I did it.

Logan Coach sells their trailers with what they call their Wiz-Proof floor.

It is aluminum 6" wide planks covered with their Vortex spray in liner.  They then place the rubber mats over that. Any Urine that gets under the mats will find its way down between the aluminum planks and drain out.

The rubber mats protect the spay in liner from wear and tear of the horse shoes.  The Spray in Liner protects the Aluminum from the corrosion that the urine would cause. It has held up extremely well in my trailer.

Not trying to promote Logan, But just saying the process has worked very well for their trailers and should work for you if you clean and neutralize your existing floor before spraying it.
