Does this sound reasonable? Our Suburban is a 1/2 ton, and the specs on the general chevy site say it has an 8100 lb towing capacity. It's not for long hauling, just local shows, clinics, and trail rides mostly. We are total novice's in the trailering department, and don't want to pick something unsafe....the horses we have for it are a small pony and an average size qh.Thanks!

Look in your owners manual to be sure. Check the hitch weight. You should be good. You might consider adding a sway bar. I towed a 2H BP behind a 4 door Tahoe for several years with a sway bar, and never had any problems.
