I'm looking to upgrade from a small all steel gooseneck stock trailer to a 2-3 horse gooseneck slant, either all aluminum or aluminum skin/steel frame. I haul 1 or 2 horses to local shows a couple times a month during the summer and fall and take 1-2 longer trips per year. I don't want to sleep, cook, or shower in the trailer and I need to be able to get it down my twisty local country roads, so I am looking exclusively at non-living quarter trailers with a box length of 16' or less. I found a 2005 Bison Alumasport nearby that has the features I want at a price I can afford. It is aluminum skin over steel frame with a wood floor. I have seen several criticisms of the brand on the internet, but most relate to the Living Quarters model Bisons. Can anyone comment on the overall quality and durability of Bison trailers without living quarters? How well do the frames and hardware hold up? Etc? Thanks for the help!

You should be OK with that trailer. We have been a longtime Bison dealer, and the older Aluma Sport non LQ trailers performed quite well. We have sold a fair share of that model, and haven't seen much repair incidences with them. For the useage your going to give that trailer, you should be OK.

JimBob, I'm trailer shopping too, and Bison keeps coming up in my price range. What do you consider an "older" trailer, especially a Bison. I just sold (at a profit)a 1998 Featherlight LQ that was in wonderful shape, and I'm looking to upgrade into the 2000s. The trailer I am currently looking at is a 2004 Alumasport with a slide. Were there any production problems with that year? Thanks for your input.
