I read this on Diesel place a few days ago. Folks said Edge was even ordered to buy back all products from willing customers and turn over customer lists. The conspiracy theorist think the EPA will go after anyone who doesn't return their products next.

When the EPA finally invokes emissions testing for diesels...and it is coming in the future...there will be some wailing and gnashing of teeth similar to the automobile owners who poisoned their catalytic converters with leaded fuel way back when...

Here too. Unless you are fairly new, it is visual only, and that is kind of like asking some one for their OPINION, if they don't like the way it sounds/looks/smells/ETC, you may be eating dirt!

They put mine on a Dyno and rev it to 70 mph, You have wheel spinning on the rollers, engine roaring all held in place with a couple of chains while they read how much pollution my diesel engine puts out. So it's not just compliance at idle , it also under load. The EPA has mandated this because Northern Utah is subjected to winter inversions ( Mountain valleys trapping colder air as warmer higher pressure systems move across)
Edge knew this was coming and voluntarily stopped selling these devices almost 3 years ago. It just took this long for the EPA to negotiate the penalty. You can expect to see the same from H&S, They know they have an EPA penalty coming, they've stopped selling the Delete kits and are just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Edge has been shipping tuners that work WITH the federally mandated emission equipment in place. So it's not an issue of tuning or programmers, But rather deleting emission equipment, In particular the DPF and now SCR found on modern diesel engines. Which by the way, now found on Farm tractors, construction equipment, class 8 Heavy Duty trucks and all of our new pick ups.

H&S was also fined for selling programmers that would do DPF delete programming. EFI Live also stopped selling their programming software that would enable DPF delete even though they are located in New Zealand.

I was planning to do the DPF delete with H&S programmer this spring when my 2008 Dodge Dually is out of the 5yr warranty. My mechanic did it to his 2009 Dodge and is getting 26 mpg on the hwy not towing and mid to upper teens when towing!
I live in Texas and we don't have emissions testing on diesels & hope we never do. Now I'm not so sure I want to do this if we have to start doing emissions testing in the future.
What to do, what to do....?! Wonder if the programmers that work with the DPF still on are really any good?
