Need some input. Looking for a 3 horse all aluminum gooseneck. Really like the older (2006 and previous) Featherlites. Wondering how the newer models by Featherlite compare. Have looked at a 2012, they seem like they are built cheaper than the older models. Materials and workmanship just do not compare, in my opinion, especially the drop windows. I need one to last me for a long, long time!! Wondering if anybody out ther has a newer one, and if they "measure up" to the older models. Thanks!

We bought a 1999 Featherlite stock trailer last year as a run around trailer. We had looked at a new Featherlite first and we were definitely not impressed. The aluminum floor seemed thin (there seemed to be a lot of "flex" to it) and there were a lot of sharp edges. We walked away from looking at them thinking we would go to a steel stock trailer for half the price that was built much sturdier. In the meantime, we found an older Featherlite all aluminum stock trailer that was less than the cost of the steel stock trailer and was like new. We do have a friend with an older Featherlite (early '90s) that is built like a tank so we decided to buy the older trailer and it has worked out well. I don't think we would have been as happy with a "new" Featherlite. It seems that quality has gone down hill since they were purchased by Universal. They used to be a very built trailer!

Thank you for your comments. Yes, I looked at a 2011 3 horse GN and was not impressed either. I know they are trying to make a lighter weight trailer, but lighter is not always better if aluminum is thinner gauge...will stick with older models...Trading up from an old steel trailer that is still in pretty good shape..just need bigger dressing room and mid or rear tack... Thanks for your input!
