I have a 2005 Adams LQ, aluminum shell.  The putty put around all of the roof intrusions are dry and cracking, I also think that there are a couple of small leaks developing.  Also a friend of a friend etc. mentioned that he had rolled/brushed on a rubber paint like product on all of the seams and never had a leak in 15 years.  So 1st question is should I remove all the old dry putty and seal with a silicon caulk or use what looks like plumbers putty?  The 2nd, Is there a product that I can paint on all the seams to seal the roof.  And last does anybody have any other ideas to stop leaks and prevent them in future.  Thanks in advance for the help.
