I have an exiss XT 314 that has a tail light problem. Left rear tail light works fine for running, but no blinker or brake light. Light cartridge is new. 7 way plug is newer. Blinker and brake light on truck work fine. Any ideas?Chris

New could mean it works or doesn't, now a days. Take the unit from the other side that you know works and try it in the non working side and see what happens. Let us know the out come and we can work from there.

Ok, but anything is possible... Have you ever did any wire testing? Do you have a 12v test light? Hook the trailer up and remove the light, turn on your turn signal to that light and now test the Yellow wire (if the trailer is wired to the standard), see if you get the 12v test light flashing... If not, report back. No reason to check the ground at this point because you do have a tail light working, so the ground should be good on that side.

The wiring on the newer model trucks have separate fuses for the turn/brake lights on the trailer. Truck can work fine but fuse to trailer wiring is probably blown. I know on Chevy/GMC it is in the box under the hood. Not sure about the others.

This is true and maybe things have changed even more, but as far as I know they don't have fuses (and or relay) for the left and right turn/brake, one fuse (and or relay) is set for both sides.
To add, I see a newer trailer plug was installed if I am reading correctly, another place to look, that side turn/brake could have not been connected correctly from the new harness/plug and has become disconnected.

Chevy/GMC both have fuses under the hood. Fuse locations (to the best of my memory) is #50 10 amp left turn and #51 10 amp for right turn. Those fuses are strictly for the trailer.

Good deal. I had just googled for Fords. They used to be fuses, but changed to relays in 04-05 according to what I just read. Glad you found it though.

You say it's a Ford, right? I've got an 06 and there is a separate fuse under the dash for trailer running lights and another for trailer blinkers. Don't ask how much time I spent trouble shooting a trailer marker light problem before I found this one out.
