Wondering what people could tell me the difference between aluminum and steel flat beds would be the good and bad of both. I've never had a flatbed before but am thinking I might put one on my 2011 F-350 crew cab short box srw diesel truck. Any thoughts or experiences would be great, also any certain brands I should check out would be a plus.

If you run a lot of forest service and ranch roads, and a lot of pasture hauling; I would stick to a steel bed. They will take a lot more twisting and flexing w/o cracking. I think the CM beds are hard to beat. They are built in Madill, OK. ; and most CM trailer dealers carry them.

I bought an Alum flatbed from Hillsboro...it is pretty nice. It's on my short bed F250 Crew. It could have been made 4" longer, that way the tailboard would set flush with the hitch
