We are converting our gooseneck tack room into a sleeping/dressing area. How do we know how much our ceiling can hold in weight for an air conditioner? The smallest we have found is 92 lobs. Anything lighter out there?

you have to get bracing in the roof before you try to put an A/C up there. Mine weighs a 100# Even if it only weighed 25#, the bouncing of the trailer would eventualy ripp the roof and you'll find your A/C on the floor and a big hole in the roof of your trailer.

What year, brand and model trailer do you have? Some are already braced to add an AC when they come from the factory. You might take the seriel number and call the factory and find out. If its a steel trailer a welder might brace it. If its aluminum I dont know. Maybe the factory can direct you.

Speaking of installing AC units, anybody have recommendations on wire guage for a Dometic 13,500 BTU and fuse size? Will 12-2 Romex work and a dedicated 30AMP in the panel?
