I'm considering purchasing one for my small LQ trailer. Mainly would be running the air conditioner, lights, and a small microwave. I know they are not as great a choice as the Honda's but at the price I'm willing to try.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

We have one. The remote start doesn't work well but the remote stop does.  Mine is used mosttly to run the pool house during power outages. But, I had to use it when the generator on my previous LQ was on the blink. The Champion did ok but ran out of fuel about 4 am every morning. If I was using it often, I would buy the extended rub aux tank. It starts every time by the hand pull. Hubby starts its monthly & lets it run a little. If I was going to use it primarily for my LQ, then I would probably have gone with the inverter style generator.

Remember, these 3500/4000 Champions are twice as loud as Honda or Yamaha inverter generator.... The Champion is rated at 68 dBa and the Honda EU3000is and the Yamaha EF3000ise inverters are rated at 49 to 60 dBa.

According to the National Park Service’s current regulation, the A-weighted sound pressure level at a distance of 50 feet may not exceed 60 dB(A). A-weighting is a family of curves defined in various national and international standards relating to the measurement of sound pressure level. Sound pressure level is a logarithmic measure of the effective sound pressure of a sound relative to a reference value. It is measured in decibels (dB) above a standard reference level.

I've got a non-start and one remote start. Yes, they are loud, but they will power your AC easily. Only thing with mine is that it has a leak in the carburetor, so the gas drains if I open up the gas valve too much. Just haven't gotten around to taking it to someone to get it fixed. Anyway, the pull-ones are not a big deal. They usually start in 1-2 tries. All this is important to me being a female traveling solo. The remote is so-so, and then there's the extra issue of dealing with keeping the battery charged. I'm all about simplicity. It seems easier to pull the cord. All this being said, I upgraded last year to twin Honda 2000s. Why? They're very quiet. Most of the time I only need one. I honestly don't need the AC most of the time. They need connected with cables to run together, but it's not much of a hassle. They sip gasoline and are pretty lightweight. I don't need help to load the thing like I do the Champions. But like it was said above, they were PRICEY. I'm still finishing off paying for them.
