The tail lights, brake lights and turn signals all work with the truck's headlights in the off or auto position but when the head lights come on or are manually turned on I lose tail lights, brake lights and turn signals, although all the clearance lights do come on. The truck is a 2002 F250 SD the trailer is a 2000 Legend and I do use an adapter. Any ideas? Thanks,  Donna

It sounds as if there might be an open grounding problem between the truck and trailer. I would also recommend that the adapter be replaced with a dedicated plug.

Well, that sounds great Gard! Wish I knew what you meant or what to do about it!

I believe what gard is saying is to get rid of the adapter and install the plug on the trailer to match the truck.
