I have a 2004 F350 4x4 dually 6.0l with a gooseneck in her and am looking into purchasing a gooseneck 4horse lq trailer ~ 10,450 lbs and WGVR 14,000 ~ will my truck pull and stop this trailer? My horses range from 1100-1600 so aprox total weight of them being 4900ish lbs

I have asked my dealer's owner who shows QH and knows trucks and trailers he said "yea no problem" then while in for my normal spring check there the service man told me that I "was well over my max" yet couldnt tell me what my max is... help!

Thanks for your time

If your empty trailer weighs 10,450 and you add 4900 pounds of horses, you've over loaded your trailer & its axles (10450+4900=15,350) by 1350 pounds.

I don't know how much the trailer brakes come into play with stopping an overload situation since they are adjustable.

Something to think about.

Looks like the max tow rating for your truck is 12,500 lbs. You'll be well over that for sure.
