Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knows of where I can get a motorhome that has a horse compartment in it. I remember when I was about 18 or 19 (about 13yrs ago) an advertisement for what looked like a class A huge motorhome that had a 2 horse compartment below the living quarters. Also was looking for possibly a living quarters that is more like a fifth wheel than a horse trailer with a horse compartment as well. As much as I love horse trailers, the living quarters seems so small even with slide outs. We want to get a trailer (or motorhome) that we can use to go camping with and when needed use as horse trailer. We have two kids and three dogs large dogs, so we would like alot of room.

Cimarron had a trailer similar to what you are talking about at Congress a few years back. It was huge and made more like a fifth wheel camper. The bathroom and bedroom were elevated above the gooseneck and you could walk in, not crawl in. There was plenty of storage under the floor, and I beleive tehre were three or four slideouts on it. I think it even had a second king size bed over the first 2 stalls in the horse area, with an enclosed hay pod over the second 2. It was a very decked out trailer, not typical at all. I believe thay had there 2 years in a row before it finally sold. I think the price tag was near $200,000.00. then of course you would have to have a large truck to pull something like that. I used to have pictures of that trailer, but i can't find them now. Maybe someone else on her has pics. It was a show stopper at Congress.

I did a search on the price of that Equine Motorcoach, a yahoo answers page popped up with a replay from the company stating coaches START at $695,000. Guess I won't be seeing one in any campground I go to ever.

Maybe someone already addressed this. If you found a motorhome that was big enough to meet your needs, you could pull a bumper-pull horse trailer with the motorhome when you wanted to take horses. I have even seen them that the horse trailer has been painted to match the motorhome, and it looked great.

Biggest problem with that plan is very few motorhomes are built with the tow capacity for two horses and all your gear. But that doesn't stop some people from doing it anyway. I did a lot of searching before we scrapped the whole motorhome idea, the only ones I could find that had sufficient tow capacity were big class A units on a bus chassis. On a cost basis you just can't beat a gooseneck and truck. Just my 2 cents.

A few years ago, we looked at motorhomes. The salemen said that the Class C motorhomes would pull a horse trailer. I never followed up on it, so the information could have been inaccurate.

One thing about pulling a horse trailer with a motorhome.. I witnessed this firsthand, although it was a car-hauler, not a horse trailer... If your horse trailer starts having problems..like say a tire shreds and spins off.. you can't feel a thing in the driver's seat of that big ole motorhome..

Thanks everyone!!
They are both nice!!! The one I remember is a huge class A motorhome that is on a bus chassis...the one that is all decked out and has a fancy custom paint job. I dont think I will be owning one in my lifetime (unless I win the lottery or sell everything I own--even my family52).
Thanks again!!!
