I'm thinking about getting a Popup Gooseneck Cushion Coupler and am wondering if I should get the regular one (CC2) or the one with the 9 inch offset (CC4). The literature on it says the offset is good for short bed trucks. I have a long bed with the problem of it being so long that I have to put my tailgate up before I can line up the ball so it doesn't hit my trailer. My thought is that the offset would eliminate that problem. Will the offset hitch work well in my long bed? I'll attach a picture of my truck and trailer.

I use a 9" offset on my long bed with the 4-Star trailer.... Tailgate would get into the hydraulic jack when backing under the trailer. Now I have plenty room to pass between the trailer and truck in my wheelchair with the tailgate up. I used a pop-up model SB-1. I couldn't see paying another $400.00 extra for that little rubber disc/cushion on the CC4.... http://store.mrtruck.net/servlet/Detail?no=17
