Am I the only one that thinks it is odd to leave 5 horses crammed in a 16' and tack in a trailer unhitched, unattended overnight? Would all that even fit?

They should make every effort to contact & alert any horse auction facilities within a decent radius since they may turn up there. They would certainly be recognizable since a couple had brands. I hope they are able to get them back unharmed. However, there are too many people out there today who do vicious things for no reason - our jails are full of them. It sounds like the opportunity presented itself & someone decided to take advantage of it.

I agree with Gard. I can't even imagine if my horses were stolen. My mind would be going in circles wondering if they are suffering, alive, or dead. I personally, think the victim should get a free pass to beat the livin' crap out of the person/s who did it.

I think the horses & equipmenment were stolen out of the barns from the SAU campus. The horses belonged to the rodeo team. I have done a google search on news articles and one said a stolen trailer was found in Tom, OK....not sure if it was the same trailer, but no horses or equipment found. Below is the trailer VIN and the university police number:
The horse trailer stolen is a 2003 Featherlite, silver in color, bearing Georgia License Plate TL7W102 and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) 4FGL020223C058456

With what the present horse market is; they would have been many dollars ahead stealing a trailer load of cattle instead of horses. Either way; they should hang !!
I have both cattle and horses, and I would be livid if someone stole any of them.
