I had asked this question in my Hawk trailer thread but thought I would start a new one so more people would see it. (Once I buy a truck I swear I'll stop posting so much!).
I have just purchased a 2H straight haul Hawk gooseneck trailer. It weighs about 4675 lbs empty. I now need to purchase a truck. The same dealership that I bought the trailer from has a used 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT 5.7L Hemi, 65,000 miles on it and it is a 6 1/4' bed. I was hoping to find an 8' bed but this truck is a great deal at $16,000.
Do you think this would be a good truck for me?
Any opinions would be very much appreciated!!! Thanks :)

Properly equipped the little HEMI in the Ram will do very well for your relatively light load. IMHO Make sure to find out some history of the truck, has it towed heavy or was it mainly a daily driver? Was it serviced at the dealer if so there should be records of that service. General appearance of the truck can be a fooler. Trust a good mechanic to do a independent check for you.
