IS there any way to keep the water fresh smelling and useable in your horse trailer...I absolutely hate the smell of the fresh water..and NEVER do I use it for cooking or drinking..just clean up. I do not let water sit in the tank..it is drained after each trip..and flushed out well before the next use.. But really what can a person do to make the water better? is it the water? the tank? are there additives one can put in the tank ? possibly a different kind of tank ? filter system.( I would so invest in a filter system) Ideas / thoughts are greatly appreciated

We get some additive at the farm supply or Big Box and it helps with the odor. I believe I put about an ounce in each time I fill the tank (25 or 30 gal tank).

Have you done a good cleaning with bleach water? At least once a year I put bleach, and fill tank, and let it soak for the day, then dump it, and refill and dump.

Thanks jimbob...question: do you add to tank after use,or to water being used ? and if it is after use, do you just leave it in tank and flush before fill ?
