I notice that my Honda 3000 has trouble keeping my AC going when it is really hot outside, when the fridge cycles the generator will go into overload. I have to set the thermostat to the lowest setting on my AC to maintain the generator, but it’s not cold enough in the trailer then. Will the two 2000's in series solve the problem, Do they really put out that much more than a 3K?

Two honda 2000 at 16.7 amps each will produce more amps than one 3000 at 25 amp.  How usefull that amp is, I don't know,.  I'd call one of the companies that specialize in selling the parrallel set up Like Wise Sales and askt he question of them.

That's the main reason I bought a Yamaha EF3000iseB. It gets an additional 500 watts off the starting battery to help start those 13.5 AC's on hot days. This generator is rated at 3500 watts start up rather than 3000 watts...... Not real sure about that Honda dual 2000 setup.

Hey Bob!

Fancy meeting you here! Congrats on your success in NM!  See you down the road!  BTW we use the 2-2000s, handy when you only need one to run heater or such.

Vaya con Dios! Payson

I looked at some Honda's at the trailer dealership this week and some of the 2000s now have the parallel setup built in to the generator.  Lighter and smaller than the older parallel unit I purchased about 5 years ago.  Also the 3000 is much smaller than they use to be and has a cart kit so it is handier now.  I still like the 2-2000s until I can afford an Onan 4000!

Happy Independence Day! God bless America!

I have 2 Yamaha 2000 that we use in series.  They can run the AC and the fridge at the same time without any issues on stupid hot days at 5000 feet.  We have not tried them running the AC, fridge, hair dryer and curling iron all at the same time, give my wife time I have faith.  I’ll report back.

I have two Honda 2000. So far they will run anything I throw at them. The AC, frig, TV, hair dryer. Do it all at the same time. I cannot say enough good things about this setup. They will run my AC all night long in 90 degree heat without a problem. They must be super fuel conservative, because they seem to go forever before I have to refill the tanks. Hope this helps. Happy 4th of July to everyone!!!

Why not just run your fridge on propane when you have to run the AC?
